Crusoe is on a mission to accelerate the abundance of energy and intelligence. As the only vertically integrated AI infrastructure company built from the ground up, we own and operate each layer of the stack — from electrons to tokens — to power the world's most ambitious AI workloads. When you join Crusoe, you join a team that is building the future, faster.
We're in the midst of the greatest industrial revolution of our time. The demand for AI compute is boundless, and power is a bottleneck. We're solving that — with an energy-first approach that makes AI infrastructure better for the world and faster for the people innovating with AI.
We're looking for problem-solving, opportunity-finding teammates with a sense of urgency, who believe in the scale of our ambition and thrive on a path not fully paved — people who want to grow their careers alongside a team of experts across energy, manufacturing, data center construction, and cloud services.
If you want to do the most meaningful work of your career, help our customers and partners advance their AI strategies, and be part of a high-performing team that believes in each other, come build with us at Crusoe.
About the Role:
Crusoe is seeking a Chief of Staff to serve as a strategic and operational partner to our Chief People Officer (CPO), helping build the operating discipline, alignment, and execution capabilities required as we scale globally.
This leader will shape how the People organization operates, connecting strategic priorities to planning, decision-making, execution, and communication. They will establish the rhythms and mechanisms that enable our leaders to work as one cohesive team, deliver major People initiatives effectively, and make well-informed decisions.
The ideal candidate combines strong strategic judgment with hands-on execution. They bring experience building effective operating practices, ideally across both high-growth and mature organizations, and know how to introduce structure without bureaucracy. This is a highly influential role for someone who can anticipate challenges, navigate complexity, and turn strategy into coordinated action.
What You'll Be Working On:
Lead the People Operating Rhythm
Design and lead the People organization's operating cadence, including annual and quarterly planning, OKRs, operating reviews, leadership meetings, and decision forums.
Establish clear expectations for planning, executive materials, decision-making, accountability, and follow-through.
Track progress against strategic priorities, surfacing risks, dependencies, tradeoffs, and decisions requiring leadership attention.
Partner with functional leaders to maintain a coordinated enterprise calendar of major People programs, including performance, compensation, talent reviews, and employee listening.
Ensure programs are thoughtfully sequenced, business-ready, and designed to minimize competing demands on leaders, managers, and employees.
Orchestrate Cross-Functional Priorities and Execution
Integrate priorities and initiatives across the People leadership team, ensuring functional strategies contribute to a cohesive enterprise agenda.
Maintain visibility into major initiatives, milestones, dependencies, resource constraints, and execution risks.
Partner with functional leaders and program managers to identify interdependencies, coordinate priorities, and escalate execution risks, while preserving functional ownership of strategy and delivery.
Establish lightweight governance and execution mechanisms that reinforce accountability, transparency, and results.
Elevate Executive Communications and Business Readiness
Partner with the CPO, People leadership team, and Internal Communications to shape a cohesive narrative and communication strategy for People priorities and initiatives.
Develop and refine executive presentations, board materials, leadership updates, and strategic communications, ensuring clarity, analytical rigor, and actionable recommendations.
Establish high standards for executive materials, including clear narratives, decision points, and stakeholder expectations.
Coordinate communications and leadership readiness for major People initiatives, ensuring messages, timing, and required actions are aligned across the business.
Serve as a Strategic Partner to the CPO
Act as a trusted advisor and thought partner to the CPO on organizational priorities, operating effectiveness, and leadership alignment.
Support the CPO and People leadership team in translating organizational priorities into an integrated People operating plan, with clear milestones, decision points, and accountability.
Prepare the CPO for critical discussions and decisions, synthesizing information, stakeholder perspectives, risks, and recommendations.
Lead select special projects on behalf of the CPO, particularly those that span the People leadership team or fall outside established functional ownership.
Foster a culture of operating excellence, thoughtful prioritization, and consistent follow-through across the People organization.
What You'll Bring to the Team:
10+ years in business operations, strategy, management consulting, Chief of Staff, or related roles, with experience partnering directly with senior executives.
Experience navigating rapid organizational growth and complexity, ideally complemented by experience in a mature, publicly traded company with strong operating and governance practices.
Proven ability to establish operating rhythms, lead planning processes, manage complex cross-functional priorities, and translate strategy into execution.
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data, identify meaningful insights, evaluate tradeoffs, and develop evidence-based recommendations.
Exceptional ability to personally develop polished, data-driven presentations, strategic narratives, and decision materials for executive leadership. Board-level experience is a plus.
Understands how organizations operate, anticipates dependencies and downstream impacts, and brings clarity to ambiguous or complex situations.
Builds trust across senior stakeholders, drives alignment without formal authority, and combines strategic perspective with hands-on execution and exceptional attention to detail.
Understanding of People/HR functions, talent programs, and employee lifecycle processes preferred, though strong business operators from other disciplines will be considered.
