Analytical Scientist

Western Chemicals is looking to add an analytical scientist to the team. The ideal candidate will
have a research-heavy bachelor’s or master’s degree in a scientific discipline with experience
running HPLC machines (any manufacturer) and performing enzyme assays. This position will
perform routine enzyme assays, analytical testing, and other work to support botany and
fermentation efforts, initially working closely with the CSO, but eventually taking ownership of
the processes. Experience with assay development is also highly preferred.
Prior experience in startups, small businesses, and/or other lean, fast-paced operating
environments helpful

Specific job title, salary, and equity will depend on education and experience, but the expected
pay range is $65,000 - $90,000.

Notes

• Direct experience with duckweed is NOT required for this role. The focus of this role is
  first and foremost hands-on lab work and data collection/analysis.
• This role is based at our El Segundo R&D facility, but we may require some travel to our
  Crockett TX site as well, especially when we are deploying new lab equipment /
  analytical tools.
